Happy New Year Fellow Randonneurs,
We're pleased to announce that our 2014 schedule has been approved and we are again offering mulitple distance options on all weekends. We will be starting a few weeks earlier than last year in preparation for the earlier scheduling required in spring of 2015 for P- B-P qualifications.
Remember, to increase your chances in the ranking of 2015 P-B-P spring registrations, you will want to complete the longest brevet possible in 2014. You must then complete a full series in 2015. More on this later. And finally, remember to become a member of RUSA, and GLR, to obtain credit for these rides in the RUSA system.
Once again, the core leadership group and myself wish to thank you for participating in our Great Lakes Randonneurs Brevet series and will enjoy seeing everyone again in the new year.

Eric has updated his GPX files for the 200k and 300k routes. They are available via the links in the route summary table near the top of of the correspnding route pages and via this link to his site: GPX files.
We do our best to provide accurate information however, as always, GLR does not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of and does not accept responsibility for errors that may be contained in these files.

The preliminary cue sheets and maps for the 200k and 300k are available via the links in the route summary table near the top of of the correspnding route pages. Eric is working to update our GPX files, they should be available shortly.
The route has two small changes and a potential detour. On the way into Brodhead the route will continue west on Avon North Townline to the T intersection on Co. T and then head north to the first control. This will simplify the routing and get us into the control a few minutes earlier. West of Edgerton, the route will continue east on Stebbinsville Rd. to the Y intersection after crossing over Stebbinsville Dam. Finally, the ongoing construction on the lower section of Co. Hwy. M may affect routing. RBA Jim will provide updated routing information at check-in if necessary.

Our host hotel, the Super 8 in Delavan Wi has the following policies for us this year.
A small room block discounted rate (10 rooms per brevet weekend) using the name Great Lakes Randonneurs has been arranged for riders wishing to make reservations by calling the hotel directly (not available online). Call Rebecca or Shawn at the Super 8, at 1-262-728-1700. The room block, discounted fee, will be available until two weeks prior to each ride. No guarantees of room availability after that time. If rooms are still available after the initial 10 block is sold out, the discounted rate will still be given to those informing hotel staff they are with Great Lakes Randonneurs. Cancellation policy is NEW, revised to 6PM day of arrival.
Please, riders not staying at the Super 8 are asked to park across the street (Borg Road) and not within the Super 8 lot. Brevet on-site registration will be Friday evening, between 8PM ish and 10PM ish or Saturday morning 5AM to 30 minutes past the last ride departure time.

We all like to ride, but do you like to explore new routes? Consider designing new routes? Would you consider helping younger Randonneurs in achieving their goals? Support day of registration events? Even help generate newsletter articles. At the end of the 2015 riding season, your RBA will likely retire and rejoin the ranks of brevet riders. If you have an interest in potentially taking GLR to the new levels, 2014 would be a great time to help out under the guidance of your RBA and fellow GLR leadership.
